What is A Course in Miracles?
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is a form of spiritual psychotherapy, consisting of a 669 page text, a workbook for students containing 365 lessons (one for each day of the year), and a 92 page Manual for Teachers. The Course is a radical path to awakening, advocating at every turn for absolute forgiveness of everything and everyone. It guides students through a fundamental shift in perception, from a life experience based in fear and separation to one based in love and oneness. It also stands as an utterly pristine manual for healing. Lifelong students of The Course include spiritual leaders Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, Alan Cohen, James Twyman, Gabrielle Bernstein, and a host of others. ACIM is also the only channeled text endorsed by renown spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle. The Course is arranged as a teaching device and is carefully explained in a very structured fashion.
Though universal in theme, A Course in Miracles is colored throughout by Christian terms. It’s rich explanations, however, transform the meaning of those terms from their familiar biblical definitions. For instance, the word sin is defined as a lack of love and is something to be corrected not condemned. The Course’s outlined lessons are fundamentally practical and the application of each step, deeply personal. The Course in Miracle’s Workbook for Students leads us through a purification of the mind and a complete transformation of one’s perception.
